The start of Love2Run

I established LOVE2RUN in July 2020.  As a lifelong runner I was inspired to support, educate and inspire runners of all abilities & ages to achieve success.

About Caroline Heathorn

I am an Athletics New Zealand Accredited coach as well as an ex International elite runner, duathlete and cyclist. I have achieved national honours and a range of National medals across all three sports. .

Why Love2Run?

Love2Run’s brand promise is to change someone’s previous experience of running and inspire them to learn that running can transform your life on all levels. 

Love2Run is currently based in the beautiful Omokoroa Peninsula in Western Bay of Plenty.

I am passionate about this community and its people, as an experienced PE teacher and Athletics coach Love2Run has engaged children and adults alike. 

Through various initiatives and community roles Love2Run is aspiring to raise the participation numbers of people running and empower them with the belief that they can do it.

Events

Catherine is (one of) the brains behind the annual Omokoroa Coastal Challenge, as well as the Love2Run Summer Series.  An avid runner, Catherine has recently completed her first marathon, the gruelling Taniwha.

After putting off doing any regular cardio fitness for a number of years since children, I have joined two of Caroline’s Love to Run Groups.

Caroline is an absolutely fantastic coach and has helped me so much to begin to get fit again and already achieve some running goals that I never imagined I was capable of.  Caroline always makes the training sessions interesting, informative and no session is the same.  I have learned more about technique, different stretches, strategies for training. 

Caroline is very professional and yet also fun and easy to talk to.  She is supportive and encouraging. 

Since starting the running training I have noticed an increase in energy and focus.  I have also noticed I am less irritable with the children and in general, have a greater sense of positivity and wellbeing.
